Your Yoga with AnnMarie

Yoga is a deep exploration of the mind, body, and soul, through daily asana practice combined with pranayama and meditation. Ann Marie’s focus/goal is to help her students find space and flexibility in their bodies and minds with yoga techniques.

AnnMarie began practicing yoga in 1993. Yoga made her feel free and open not only in her physical state but in her mind as well. AnnMarie’s passion to learn and share her love of yoga lead her to pursue her education, completing her 200 hour certification from Yoga Works, NYC, and her 500 hour certification from Yoga Sutra, NYC.

She is grateful to have been able to study with the late Pamela Shannon, who inspired her to become a teacher. Pamela is still a reminder to AnnMarie that the only way to stay true to the art of yoga is to continue to learn something everyday and to stay honest
within.

AnnMarie is thankful to have also studied with amazing teachers, including Guta Hedewig, Jill Camera, Chase Bossart, Dr. Jeffrey Rubin, and Srivatsa Ramaswami, as well Dr. Edwin Bryant, all within the lineage of TKV Desikachar, BKS Iyengar, and K.Pattabhi Jois.

AnnMarie has also completed certificates in Pre-Natal and Children's Yoga from Karma Kids Yoga in Manhattan. She continues to broaden her knowledge of yoga by attending lectures and workshops, as she believes
that a teacher is always a student as well.
